1. When can I join a AHE professional course? |

You can join one of our Professional courses as soon you have finished schooling in your country, but not before. |

You must be at least 18 years old. |

You can begin one of our courses at any time, but we that you start at the beginning of the semester (January, March, July or September) |

Mature students of any age are also welcome. |

2. What qualifications do I need to take a AHE professional course? |
To enter a course at the first level (e.g. ABE Business Management Certificate), you only need to have an Upper-Intermediate standard of English. At higher levels, you need to demonstrate that you have surpassed the first level; we also require certificates to prove this. |
3. Is there a deadline for applications? |

No, but an early application will give you time to get a visa and to satisfy any conditions which are attached to your offer. |

You can submit an application at any time before the start of the academic year but the sooner the better as class numbers are limited. |

4. Do I have to take a test before I can join your course? |
If you have already taken an exam like TOEIC, IELTS or FCE/CAE we may accept your passing that as a condition of entry. Otherwise we will ask you to do an English language test. |
5. Can I study part-time? |
Professional courses are a minimum of 15 hours per week. AHE does not currently offer part-time courses for overseas students, but part-time courses are available for Home students and for some other subjects. Contact the admission office for more information. |
6. When will I be told if I have been offered a place on a AHE professional course? |
When you have correctly completed your application form, sent us all the documents we require and paid the administration fee and deposit, you will be sent a decision within a week of your application being received by us. |
7. If I am offered a place on a professional course, when will I be sent a registration letter and other information about joining the course? |
You will be sent information about your AHE course with your offer letter and we will also give you further information about the course. |
8. Will the College help me with my visa? |

If you accept the offer of a place on the course, you will be sent a letter/certificate confirming that you are joining the course. This certificate will help you to get your visa. |

You should note that a letter stating that you have an unconditional offer to join the course cannot be issued until you have fulfilled the conditions which are attached to your offer. |

If you have any problems that we are unable to assist you with, you should ask your embassy/consulate for help. |

You will usually need to get a visa before you leave your country to come to England. |

9. If I join the course, when will I have to pay my tuition fees? |
We will tell you how to pay your fees. |
10. What do I need to do about arranging accommodation? |
We can arrange accommodation for you. Please contact the accommodation office. |
11. Are your Professional courses recognised by universities? |
Most UK universities will accept successful completion of an ABE/CIMA/ACCA course as an entry qualification for their degree courses. In many cases you can enter at the second, or even third, year of a degree programme. |
12. When are the intakes for the UK? |
January, March, July and September.
The main intake for most UK universities is September. Every university opens admissions for all courses that they offer, for the September intake. There is also a mid-academic year intake offered by some British universities during January/February. However, all courses may not be offered in this intake. Information on whether or not a university will offer a January/February intake can be found on the respective university's web site, university brochures or from our counsellors. |
13. When can I start my admission procedure? |
For January/March intake - apply in November.
For July/September intake - apply by May at the latest. |
14. What is the course duration for Masters? |
Usually 18 months |
15. Which documents I need to submit for admission? |
10th, 12th, Graduation (all years), Bio-data/CV/Resume, IELTS Mark Sheet, PSP. |
16. Do I need to submit true copies? |
No |
17. Is IELTS compulsory for admission? |
Not always, it depends on the course. |
18. I have not given IELTS exam, can I apply for admission? |
Yes, you can submit all the other documents and start your admission procedure. You will receive a Conditional Admission Letter. |
19. Can I apply for my visa with an Conditional Admission Letter? |
No, you need to have an Unconditional Admission Letter to apply for your visa. |
20. How can I get an Unconditional Admission Letter? |
You need to meet the conditions as written on your Conditional Offer Letter. |
21. I have scored less than 6.0 bands in IELTS. Am I eligible to get admission? |
Yes, but you will be required to do the Pre-sessional English Programme. |
22. Can I work while I am studying in the UK? |
Yes, you are allowed to work 20 hours per week during studies and full time during vacation. |
23. I am a fresh Graduate. Can I pursue an MBA in the UK? |
Yes. |
24. When can I apply for my visa? |
As soon as possible. The High Commission gets very busy in the Visa section during the summer when lots of students are applying. |
25. How long should my passport be valid for? |
Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the time of lodging the visa application. |
26. How many photographs are required? |
2 photographs |
27. What size should the photographs be? |
45 mm x 35 mm in size. They should be against a white/light background. |
28. Where should I submit my visa file? |
Once the whole file is ready, you need to submit the file to the VFS - see next question. |
29. What is the VFS? |
The Visa Facilitation Service is the British High Commission's Commercial Partner. They operate Application Centres on behalf of the 4 Visa Departments in India, for applicants to make visa applications to travel to the UK. VFS operates 11 application centres across India and there is a VFS centre in Ahmadabad and Mumbai in Western India. |
30. Where will my visa file be processed? |
In India, all visa applications will be assessed at the British High Commission, New Delhi or the British Deputy High Commission in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata depending on the region the applicant applies from. |
31. What is meant by 'presentation' of the visa file? |
The documents should be arranged as per the document list in the VFS or BHC guidance pack. |
32. Do I have to submit all documents as originals to the BHC? |
Yes, copies of originals will not be accepted. |
33. For my visa file, are all documents required to be certified/attested? |
No, as the whole file will be made up of original documents. |
34. Can I take my spouse and child as dependants? |
Yes, your spouse and children below 18 years of age can accompany you to the UK during your studies as long as you can support them to live without needing any support from public funds. |
35. Will my spouse be allowed to work? |
Yes, if the British High Commission grants you permission to stay in the UK for 12 months or more. |
36. Is there a Pre-sessional English Language course available? |
Yes, students who score less than 6.0 bands in IELTS may be required to do a pre-sessional English language course. |
37. Which funds are not accepted for visa purposes? |
